Stray Animals in Seychelles
Please note the following – During your holiday in Seychelles, you will notice a lot of animals roaming the island. Please be assured that not all roaming animals (especially dogs) are homeless. You will see plenty of homes around with no fencing and dogs get to roam around (especially on the beaches with loads of tourists) These dogs will either be microchipped, have collars or you can see they are very healthy looking. There are procedures in place for animal owners with roaming pets.
But unfortunately, occasionally you will find an animal in need where you can physically see the animal needs help for example malnourished, skinny with skin problems or look like they have been abused or any other emergency/accident, only then do you have to worry and assist.
What to do if you find a stray animal in need – Here are two listed organisations
– Contact Pet Heaven Society. They are a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) · Nonprofit Organization · Animal Shelter. They are here to Rescue Re-home and Rehabilitate defenceless, homeless and suffering strays in Seychelles.
