Air Seychelles will expand flights to Tel Aviv.
Air Seychelles will expand its flights to Tel Aviv. Between Thursday, September 21 and Friday, October 6, Air Seychelles will run 20 flights on the Tel Aviv route to accommodate an increase in travellers for an approaching Israeli vacation. The Sukkot holiday, after Passover, is the second-largest holiday season in Israel, according to the airline on Thursday. The traditional Sukkot holiday will take place in 2023 between September 29 and October 6. Five commercial flights per week will replace the current two, and there will also be a number of charters leaving from Tel Aviv towards the Maldives and Mauritius.
With over 10,000 Israelis having visited the area this year, Israel continues to be a significant market for Seychelles. During this time, Air Seychelles plans to transport more than 2,300 passengers to and from Seychelles as well as more than 1,100 passengers to the Maldives and Mauritius. In order to satisfy the high demand this year, Air Seychelles have even chartered more planes, according to Charles Johnson, the airline’s chief commercial officer.
In November 2019, Air Seychelles began nonstop service between Israel’s most populated city, Tel Aviv, and the island nation, flying to Tel Aviv twice weekly during off-peak times and more frequently during the summer. Despite the difficult economic situation being experienced in the region, the outlook for the remainder of 2023 remains positive.
With its fleet of Airbus A320NEO aircraft, Air Seychelles has been operating for almost 45 years, with destinations including Colombo, Tel Aviv, Johannesburg, Mumbai, and Mauritius from its base in Mahe.
