Seychelles Tourism Festival 2024
Get ready for the 7th edition of the Seychelles Tourism Festival, running from September 22 to 30! This year’s theme, “Bridging Cultures and Building Futures,” focuses on celebrating cultural tourism.
Sunday, September 22: The festival kicks off with an invitation-only launch event in Victoria from 10:00 to 11:00 am, followed by the Local Fest 2024 along Independence Avenue from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm. Enjoy Creole cuisine from 19 participating restaurants, both standalone and hotel-based. The Timeless Escapade: Discover Seychelles’ History exhibition at the National History Museum will also be open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm throughout the week. Plus, the first Kids Interview Video will debut on the Destination YouTube Channel.
Monday, September 23: Catch the Radio Listeners Competition on Paradise FM’s Tripotaz at 10:30 am. In the evening, Lendi Lakwizin by Kokosye takes place at Chalet Bamboo Vert on La Digue from 4:00 to 7:00 pm (booking required, capacity of 10). There’s also a special Tourism Festival Mic Live radio event on Paradise FM from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, discussing this year’s tourism theme.
Tuesday, September 24: The Radio Listeners Competition continues at 10:30 am. Over on La Digue, Grandma’s Savoir Faire will be hosted at Domaine Val De Pres from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, featuring local traditions and gastronomy (booking required). Secret Garden Tea & Snacks by Kokosye takes place from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Secret Garden Villas on La Digue (booking required, capacity of 10).
Wednesday, September 25: An internal Cultural Workshop will be held at Botanical House, Mont Fleuri, at 10:00 am. Grandma’s Savoir Faire continues at Domaine Val De Pres from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Later, Merkredi Moutya by Kokosye will be held at Anse Severe Beach on La Digue from 5:00 to 8:00 pm (capacity of 20, booking required).
Thursday, September 26: A special Sip & Craft event by Kokosye will take place at a yet-to-be-confirmed location on La Digue from 4:00 to 6:00 pm (capacity of 15, booking required). The Digital Tourism Summit, an invitation-only event, will be hosted at Laila Resort from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, focusing on digital tools for business growth.
Friday, September 27 (World Tourism Day): The day starts with a Meet & Greet at key locations, including the Airport, Inter-Island Jetty, National Botanical Gardens, Vallée de Mai, Baie Ste. Anne Jetty on Praslin, and the La Digue Tourist Information Office, from 6:45 am onwards. The Minister’s Message will be broadcast on SBC TV and digital platforms. In the evening, Le Diner en Blanc by Kokosye will be held at L’Union Estate on La Digue from 6:00 to 11:00 pm (capacity of 80, booking required).
Additionally, the VIN New Program: Transformational Travel featuring Sustainable Seychelles will be launched. Tours showcasing sustainable practices at Story Hotel and Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 am and 3:00 to 4:00 pm.
Saturday, September 28: The Special Tourism Festival Event: Discover Le Ravin Fond Ferdinand takes place at Fond Ferdinand, Praslin, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. In the evening, the invitation-only Lospitalite Awards Ceremony will be held at Eden Bleu Hotel on Eden Island at 6:00 pm.
Monday, September 30: The festival concludes with the Tourism Pioneers Park Ceremony, an invitation-only event at the Seychelles Tourism Academy in La Misere at 10:00 am. This will be followed by the Lospitalite Tourism Club Awards, also invitation-only, at Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort at 1:30 pm.
